Can Your Work Withstand the Third Degree?

Where will you be on the night of October 15 at 6:30 in the evening?!? Will you be in New Orleans at the DMA International ECHO awards ceremony? Do you think your great campaign went unnoticed? Well, nobody's above the law. At the DMA International ECHO Awards, we have an ongoing manhunt for Direct Marketing's best. It's not just a job, it's a calling. So, if you think you've got what it takes to survive the Third Degree, by all means enter. You may be sentenced with an ECHO before you know it.

But consider yourself warned - our judges don't look kindly on petty crime. If your campaign doesn't measure up, you'll be going away for a long time (well, at least until next year's competition). But, if the evidence points to you, you may walk away with an ECHO. And, with judging and criteria this tough, you'll know that you are truly a career criminal if you win. So, if you've got the guts, and you've got the campaign, take your chances - you may take your place among Direct Marketing's most wanted.

The Roughest and Oldest Competition in the Industry.

TheYear 2000 marks the 71st anniversary of the DMA International ECHO Awards competition. Since 1930, we've been arraigning the best our industry has to offer - arresting campaigns that excel in three categories of punishing review: brilliant strategy, breakthrough creative, and phenomenal results. Not only here in the U.S., but from around the world. When we began, we honored direct mail campaigns exclusively. But, along with the acceleration of DRTV and the information age came new possibilities for direct advertising. That's when the three levels of ECHO awards - gold, silver, and bronze - first began to clean up the streets.

New media. New categories. More awards. And of course, tougher and tougher judging. In fact, with three rounds of brutal judging, the ECHO's have become the most prestigious awards in the industry. Today, winning an ECHO is as difficult as it is distinguished. Out of last year's nearly 1000 entries, only 52 won awards! The rest were sent back to the chain gang to work harder and look to the next year for vindication. Well, that time is now. 2000 promises to be our best awards show yet. Will you be a part of it? Can you withstand the Third Degree? Will you be a lifer in the ECHO line-up? Or, will your work get the chair.
