You Can't Win The Game Unless You Make A Move!

Every day you slave away for hours on end. You completely throw your social life out the window. You drain every ounce of your creative fluids — all in the quest for the perfect marketing campaign. And what do you get in return? Maybe a pat on the back, and if you're lucky a free turkey at Thanksgiving.

Maybe it's time you basked in the Glory of a DMA International ECHO Award — the most coveted prize in the world of direct marketing.

But you can't win the game if you don't make a move. To be a top player — you need to be in Chicago at McCormick Place on October 28, 2001. All the best players will be there, so you better bring your game face. The competition — and the judging — are fierce. But if you make all the right moves your campaign might be the one that rises to the winner's circle with a nice shiny ECHO Award!

It's an International Competition!

Adding an ECHO Award to your trophy cabinet requires strength right across the board. For a start, with entries coming from around the world, you'll be up against the toughest opponents — and even tougher judging criteria that covers not just 1, but 3 areas — strategy, creative and results.

15 Ways to win, plus the new ECHO Digital Award!

If you decide to go for the Glory, ECHOs are awarded across 12 primary business categories. As usual, 3 very special awards will also be presented — the DMA Diamond ECHO, the USPS Gold Mailbox, and the Henry Hoke Award.

And this year, there's also a new award that recognizes the growing importance of marketing on the Web. The ibm.com ECHO Digital Award will go to the Gold or Silver ECHO award-winning campaign that uses new technology in a truly creative way, delivers real results and executes proven direct marketing principles in the most compelling way.

And 2 Millennium Awards!

To celebrate special achievements in the year 2001, we've added two extra awards. Royal Mail is sponsoring an award for the best integrated campaign. And Vertis is sponsoring an award for the most innovative use of paper.

More awards. New categories. Stiff competition. And of course, tougher and tougher judging. In fact, with three rounds of brutal judging, the ECHO's have become the most prestigious awards in the industry. Today, winning an ECHO is as difficult as it is distinguished. Out of last year's nearly 900 entries, only 57 campaigns won ECHO awards! The rest were sent back to learn the rules of the game. 2001 promises to be our best awards show yet! So are you ready to take your place on the board? Or, go back to the drawing board?
