Tomorrow! DMA to Host July 1 Virtual Seminar on USPS's New Rules for Addressing Flat Mail
June 30, 2008 — The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) will host a virtual seminar on the US Postal Service’s (USPS) new rules for addressing flat mail on Tuesday, July 1 at 3 p.m. (EDT).
At this one-hour virtual seminar — entitled “New USPS Rules for Addressing Flat Mail: How to Ensure Your Mail Continues to Qualifies for Discount Rates” — Postal Service experts will provide DMA members with detailed information on all aspects of the new addressing requirements for flat-shaped mailpieces, which will take effect March 29, 2009, and answer questions.
This special briefing will position mailers to begin now to determine how best to incorporate the many changes in address format and placement that will be required next March 29 in order to retain automation compatibility, presort, and carrier route workshare discounts. Understanding the new requirements now will enable catalog and periodicals mailers to incorporate the necessary design changes so as to mitigate the impact the new USPS requirements will have on the geography of mailpiece covers.
To register for July 1 virtual seminar, which is FREE for DMA members, please email government@the-dma.org with a subject of “RSVP Postal.”
