DMA: Careers. Connections: DMA Strengthens Community and Social Media Savvy With Free Networking Event.
December 10, 2009 — The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) today announced that it will host a free networking event, open to members and non-members, to give direct marketers in the tri-state area who are in between jobs a chance to share information and network. The session will take place Monday, January 5, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at DMA’s headquarters in New York City. Light refreshments will be served.
Savvy social networking is vital for any employment search these days. That’s why ClickZ columnist and NYU faculty member Heidi Cohen, an industry-event speaker with over 20 years of marketing experience, will be on hand to explain all the dos and don’ts of social media, including how to set up and manage LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook accounts to maximize employment search results.
Cohen is the principal of Riverside Marketing Strategies, an interactive marketing consultancy. She develops innovative marketing programs to acquire and retain customers based on solid analytics. Cohen has worked with a wide range of interactive media companies and etailers. Among her clients have been the New York Times Digital, AccuWeather.com, Cheap Tickets and the United Jewish Appeal (UJA).
Since 2002, Heidi has been a member of the faculty of NYU’s Master’s in Direct and Interactive Marketing program. She teaches graduate courses including Introduction to Direct and Interactive Marketing, Advanced Online Marketing, and Financial Planning and Analysis. In 2006, she received NYU’s Outstanding Service award.
