Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) Selects Zoominfo as Key Data Services Partner
February 2, 2010 — ZoomInfo, the world’s most comprehensive directories of business information on people and companies, today announced that the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) has selected the company to expand and enhance their database of donors, educators, corporations and friends.
Established more than 40 years ago by members of the Direct Marketing Association, the
DMEF’s mission it is to attract, educate and place top students to ensure the future of the direct/interactive marketing field. The charitable foundation has enlisted ZoomInfo’s help in a major initiative to find and engage a broader support base.
“It’s an honor to be selected by the nonprofit foundation representing the direct/interactive marketing industry to supply data services,” explains Sam Zales, president of ZoomInfo. “We’re thrilled to partner with DMEF to help them realize their 2010 outreach objectives in support of their world-class educational programs.”
ZoomInfo is the only business information provider that combines both patented search technology and community-contributed data to provide complete profiles on B2B professionals and the companies where they work. As the nation’s businesses continue to experience record turnover rates as a result of the recent economic downturn, savvy direct marketers are turning to ZoomInfo to update their existing records and fill in the blanks created by an increasingly dynamic business landscape.
Unlike information providers who either update their data manually or rely exclusively on user-contributed information, ZoomInfo’s data is sourced from both the business web and a growing community of active users so the company is better equipped to capture – in near real time – more of the dynamic business data that others miss.
“During 2010 a major focus for DMEF is to significantly improve our database so we reach key professionals in the direct marketing community, as well as expand our base to identify and engage leaders in the broad interactive marketing arena," said Terri L. Bartlett, DMEF president. “We want to reach business leaders in this field so they learn how we are delivering on our mission to educate and engage today's top college students in this field. With their comprehensive business directory and high match rates, we are counting on ZoomInfo to supply us with the data we need to reconnect with old contacts and tap new markets so we significantly expand our reach during the coming year."
DMEF board member Jay Schwedelson recommended ZoomInfo to provide these critical services for the foundation. As corporate vice president of Worldata, a leading interactive and direct marketing list firm, Schwedelson knew the caliber and consistency of ZoomInfo’s data firsthand.
“Over the years, we’ve had terrific feedback on the quality of ZoomInfo’s lists,” says Schwedelson. “Our B2B customers keep coming back for the reliable contacts and targeted selects, and they consistently report fewer bounces and better delivery rates. So when DMEF decided it was time to append their data, I immediately thought of ZoomInfo.”
Since the launch of ZoomInfo Lists in January of 2009, ZoomInfo’s expansion into the data services arena has seen tremendous success. The Company has signed hundreds of new customers and noted a steady uptick in demand for their quick-turnaround data append solutions.
ZoomInfo, the world’s most comprehensive directory of business information on people and companies, is used by sales and marketing professionals to find leads, recruiters to uncover talent and by business professionals to find detailed information on people and companies. ZoomInfo’s semantic search technology gathers publicly available information from the business web – millions of company websites, news feeds and other online sources – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, then automatically compiles it into easy-to-search and easy-to-read profiles. ZoomInfo currently has profiles on more than 45 million people and 5.5 million companies, and its patented web-crawling technology adds over 20,000 new profiles monthly.
In addition to web-sourced content, ZoomInfo also relies on the input and edits of a growing user community. To date, nearly a million business professionals have contributed fresh profile information to the ZoomInfo directory and, since the launch of FreshContacts in November of 2009, some 11,000 users have contributed more than a million new contacts.
More than 6 million people search http://www.zoominfo.com every month. And over 3,000 customers, including Yahoo!, Microsoft, Oracle, PepsiCo, and 20 percent of the Fortune 500, subscribe to ZoomInfo’s premium service products. ZoomInfo is privately held and based in Waltham, Mass.
ZoomInfo also hosts Follow The Lead, a B2B sales and marketing blog that delivers the latest insights on prospecting, sales intelligence, closing, recruitment, CRM and database management.
About Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF)
Headquartered in New York City, the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) works to attract, educate, and place top college students in the business of direct/interactive marketing and, thereby, expanding and enriching the talent pool of trained, market-ready direct marketers. Established in 1966 by members of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) who wanted to give something back to the community, DMEF is today a separate, 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that is supported solely by tax-deductible contributions from individuals and companies in the field. Funds raised go toward a broad range of world-class educational programs.
Since its founding, thousands of students have taken advantage of DMEF’s educational programs, entering the field with the competitive edge of being “workplace-ready.” Many have gone on to become today’s leaders in the direct/interactive marketing arena, an indication of the Foundation’s success. In addition, more than 1,800 professors have participated in DMEF programs. Thanks in significant part to the Foundation’s four decades of work, today approximately 255 colleges and universities offer courses in direct/interactive marketing, 31 of which now offer specific direct marketing degrees and certificate programs.
