DMA Urges Members to Tell Congress to Keep FTC Expansion Out of Wall Street Reform
June 21, 2010 — The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) today sent a letter to its members, urging them to take immediate action by telling members of Congress to keep FTC expansion out of Wall Street reform legislation.
The full text of the letter follows below:
*********************************************************************
June 21, 2010
To DMA Members:
Tomorrow, Congress will decide whether to include a proposal to drastically expand the powers of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in its final Wall Street reform bill. For months, DMA has taken the lead in urging both the House and Senate to focus on strengthening the stability of our economy, not regulating industries that had nothing to do with the financial crisis at a time when businesses are struggling to both survive and create new jobs.
Now is the time that your voice matters most. Please join DMA in taking action today on this important issue by contacting your members of Congress.
I encourage you to read the letter sent to the conferees making this important decision, and to view the full-page advertisement recently printed in Roll Call, The Hill and Congressional Quarterly. You can also learn more about this critical issue at DMAAction.org.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me directly at lwoolley@the-dma.org.
Sincerely,
Linda Woolley Executive Vice President, Government Affairs Direct Marketing Association lwoolley@the-dma.org
