Email Experience Council (eec) Honors Silverpop's Loren Mcdonald with Stefan Pollard Marketer of the Year Award
February 1, 2011 — The Email Experience Council (eec), the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) email marketing arm, today announced that it has awarded the Stefan Pollard Marketer of the Year Award for Excellence in Creativity & Contribution to Loren McDonald, vice president of industry relations, Silverpop. The award was presented this morning during the morning keynote session at the Email Evolution Conference in Miami Beach, Florida.

This annual award was established in honor of Stefan Pollard, a highly respected and beloved member of the email marketing community who passed away last year. Pollard was considered a selfless mentor and champion of best practices in email marketing. The award honors an individual who demonstrates the qualities and high professional standards that Pollard exemplified during his lifetime.
Loren McDonald — VP, Industry Relations, Silverpop
Loren McDonald is a marketing executive with more than 20 years’ experience building awareness, brands, leads, and revenues through public relations, thought-leadership programs, and search marketing. An author, speaker, and media spokesperson on email marketing trends and best practices, McDonald has written more than 125 articles on email and online marketing trends and best practices for a variety of publications. In 2005, he was selected as Marketing Executive of the Year by the American Business Awards (the Stevie's). An industry newsletter he launched in 2003 has won seven awards including Best B2B e-newsletter from MarketingSherpa and the ClickZ Marketing Excellence Award.

The winner of the award receives a one-year eec membership and a conference pass for the following year’s Email Evolution Conference. The honoree will also have the opportunity to contribute to the eec newsletter and blog, and a variety of industry publications.
