DMA to Compile 'E-Mail Authentication Implementation Resource Directory'; Input Needed by Jan. 27

January 9, 2006 – In preparation for the February 1, 2006, implementation of its new requirement that members employ e-mail identification and authentication systems, the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) will compile an “E-Mail Authentication Implementation Resource Directory.” This online directory will provide DMA members a list of companies that provide services that will assist in complying with this new DMA requirement.

Specifically, DMA’s newest Guidelines states that, as a condition of membership, “Marketers that use e-mail for communication and transaction purposes should adopt and use identification and authentication protocols.”

If any DMA member company would like to be listed on the association’s “E-Mail Authentication Implementation Resource Directory” and/or would like to submit a White Paper on authentication that will be posted on DMA’s Web site, please send an e-mail to DMA’s Melissa Manis at mmanis@the-dma.org on or before Friday, January 27, 2006.

In the e-mail, please include:

· Complete company name.

· DMA membership number.

· E-mail authentication contact.

· Phone number.

· E-mail of contact.

· Company address.

· Company Web address.

Please note that all DMA member companies that express an interest in being listed on DMA’s “E-Mail Authentication Implementation Resource Directory” will be shown in alphabetical order.

Additionally, DMA cannot warrant, guarantee, or in any other way affirm or endorse the work of any organization that is listed in this compiled directory. Rather, this directory will merely be used as a resource for Guideline compliance.
