DMA to Induct Susan Blattman into Circulation Hall of Fame at 20th Annual Circulation Day

February 1, 2006 – The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) yesterday announced it will induct Susan H. Blattman, US News & World Report’s senior vice president of consumer marketing, into its Circulation Hall of Fame.  The award will be presented in a ceremony on Tuesday, February 7 during DMA's 20th Annual Circulation Day at the New York Marriot Marquis in New York.

 

Blattman, who joined U.S. News & World Report in April 2001, is responsible for the 2MM rate base newsweekly, a franchise of Education Guides, and newsstand-only specials.  She is also a member of the magazine's Executive Committee.

 

Blattman, who began her publishing career at Whitney Communications, was the consumer marketing director at Condé Nast where she was responsible for all subscription and retail sales activities for Bon Appetit, Jane, Mademoiselle, Vanity Fair and Wired prior to her current position.

 

Blattman has also held posts at Hearst Magazines, where as the promotion director she was responsible for all new subscription acquisition activities for Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, Redbook, Sports Afield, and Town & Country; and at Brant Publications where she served as the circulation director for Art in America, Magazine Antiques, and Interview.

 

Since 2004, Susan has served on the ABC Magazine Directors' Advisory Committee.  She was also a member of the DMA Circulation Council Operating Committee from 2002 until 2005. 

 

Susan is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Brooklyn College, and has completed two years of a three-year Ph.D. program in English at The Graduate School of City University of New York.  She resides on Manhattan's Upper West Side with her husband Charles and their Flat-Coated Retriever, Shana.

 

The DMA Circulation Hall of Fame Award recognizes professionals in the field who have made significant contributions to the circulation industry through professional achievement, breakthrough, creativity and/or community involvement.
