Terri L. Bartlett Appointed Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) President

June 22, 2006 — The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) announced yesterday the appointment of Terri L. Bartlett, executive director and founder of the Toy Industry Foundation, as the new DMEF president.  Bartlett, who has an extensive background in foundation leadership and management, will report to the DMEF Board of Trustees and to DMA President & CEO, John A. Greco, Jr. in his role as DMEF vice chair.  Bartlett will begin her term on July 31.

 

"Terri is uniquely qualified to assume the leadership role at DMEF," said Greco. "Her career is rich with successful marketing and fundraising initiatives. She has the depth of experience to support DMEF's goals to expand direct marketing education and attract new talent. Terri's appointment to this critical role will also further synergize the DMEF and DMA, creating the opportunity for both organizations to expand their reaches."

In her current role at the Toy Industry Foundation (TIF), Bartlett has established core national initiatives, including The Toy Bank™ , the first industry-wide program of its kind, delivering more than 5 million new toys to America's disadvantaged and at-risk children; The Power of Play™ program, a curriculum-based grassroots effort to ensure play opportunities for homeless children in three states and 11 cities nationwide in 2005; and the National Play & Learning Initiative, a partnership with children's museums, serving children and their families in the nation's neediest neighborhoods.

 

From 1996 to 2003, Bartlett served as the vice president, communications at Toy Industry Association where she pioneered proactive communications activities on behalf of the American toy industry, including strategically coordinated internal and external campaigns.  By mobilizing strong, effective, team-based support among key industry executives, Bartlett effectively galvanized industry resources to ensure ongoing success of industry programs.

 

Previously Bartlett also has served as vice president for Robert Marston and Associates, where she created and managed consumer marketing communications programs for The Dial Corporation. In addition, she held positions at public relations firms The Rowland Company and Ruder-Finn.

Established 40 years ago, DMEF is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Direct Marketing Association.  The DMEF sponsors a broad range of programs for professors and students that bring direct marketing education to the college classroom.
