DMA List & Database Council Names Ron Davis Young List Professional of the Year Honorees
August 4, 2006 — The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) List & Database Council has announced the winners of the 2006 DMA List & Database Council Ron Davis Young List Professional of the Year Award. This year’s honorees are Mariela Almonacy, production manager, Bottom Line Lists; Hayley Fenster, senior account executive, American List Counsel; and Marc Patterson, sales representative, Millard Group, Inc.
The honors will be presented at DMA List Vision 2006, which will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at the Marriott Marquis in New York, NY.
Last month, the council announced that Stefanie Pont, managing partner, Pont Media Direct, would be the recipient of its List Leader of the Year Award. This award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the list and database industry, will be presented at the List Leader of the Year Awards dinner on Tuesday evening, August 15, 2006, at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
Criteria for the Ron Davis Award include:
· Maximum three honorees each year
· Middle-management level or below
· Maximum five years in the industry
· Committed to the direct marketing process as a career
· Has consistently performed at a level above and beyond everyday job expectations
· Extended education or service in the list industry
Named in honor of Ron Davis, who was responsible for creating the List Marketing Department at Meredith Corporation, the award recognizes young list professionals who have distinguished themselves in their careers. Davis, who died in 1995, was well known for his dedication to the list industry. He was a mentor to many young list professionals, sharing his vision on the intricacies of the list business.
For over 20 years, DMA and its List & Database Council have presented the only conference dedicated to the continuously changing list industry. List/database and marketing professionals will present the latest strategies for customer acquisition and retention, e-mail terminology, and interaction between traditional and emerging direct marketing techniques and technologies.
