DMA07's 'Emerging Channels' Programming to Take Direct Marketers to the Next Level

August 22, 2007 History was made July 23 when, for the first time, a presidential debate was driven by user-generated video on CNN/YouTube.  But this innovation may already seem old history for direct marketers on the cutting-edge, as their campaigns move ahead, blazing exciting new trails.  And at DMA07 Conference & Exhibition this October, DMA will be blazing too, with 14 sessions on a brand new “Emerging Channels” track.

The programming track will present multichannel direct marketing professionals the opportunity to explore emerging channels — including advergaming, interactive television, video-on-demand, mobile marketing, and word of mouth — during DMA07, which will be held October 13–18 at McCormick Place West in Chicago.

“When even presidential candidates are embracing the power of social networking sites, you know multichannel marketing has come a long way,” said Paul McDonnough, DMA Group Show Director.  “Multichannel is now mainstream, so assessing and harnessing the opportunities that these new channels offer is essential for direct marketers.  The sessions in this track are designed to help DMA07 conferees excel in this Knowledge Economy, not simply survive.  Experts will present the latest developments, research, and innovative tactics in such areas as advergaming, digital signage, and place-based media, interactive television, video-on-demand, mobile marketing, and word of mouth.”
