January 28, 2008 — Calling all presenters for DMA08 Annual Conference & Exhibition! The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) is inviting the multichannel direct marketing community to submit speaker proposals for DMA08, which will be held October 11-16, 2008, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. The NEW deadline for submitting proposals is Monday, February 11, 2008.
DMA’s annual conference, the largest gathering of multichannel direct marketing professionals in the world, will focus on integrated marketing and emerging technologies, and will offer marketers an opportunity to receive specific information on their target segment.
In addition, DMA08 will offer attendees the knowledge to deliver effective messages using multichannel strategies. The conference also will attract top marketing professionals from a wide range of industries/verticals and job functions in the multichannel direct marketing community.
“When DMA07 concluded last October in Chicago, work began immediately on DMA08, which will be in Las Vegas,” said Lori Ann Pope, DMA senior conference manager. “To help DMA staff and our programming advisory committee shape DMA08, we are now accepting speaker proposals until Monday, February 11. While DMA08 is a six-day event, space is limited, so we urge members of our community to submit their proposals as soon as possible.”
As an incentive, Pope said that each DMA08 speaker will receive a complimentary registration to the main three-day conference (October 13-15) — a $2,200-plus value that includes admission to special labs, all sessions, networking breaks, receptions, and exhibit halls.
Those who are selected to participate as DMA08 speakers, Pope said, will be notified shortly after March 24, 2008.
Who and What Are We Looking For?
According to Pope, DMA08 speakers will represent marketing, innovation, trends, and research/insights experts from automotive, communications/utilities, education/training, financial services, insurance, pharmaceutical, manufacturing/equipment distribution, publishing, nonprofit and service industries, among others.
Speaking companies from past years have included Time Inc., MTV, Microsoft, Target, Delta, Comcast, Cingular, Procter & Gamble, Verizon, Unilever, Nickelodeon, Coca-Cola, Yahoo!, Kimberly-Clark, AOL, NASCAR, Warner Brothers, Experian, Google, and many other Fortune 1,000 companies
Pope further said that DMA will be looking for appropriate programming and speaking content in the following key categories:
· 1:1 Marketing Boot Camp
· Acquisition & Prospect Marketing
· Retention & Loyalty Marketing
· Creative Strategies & Execution
· Database Management & Analytics Integration
· Emerging Channels
· Online Marketing/Interactive Media
· Strategic Multichannel Integration
· Variable Data Production
“We also welcome your suggestions and new ideas for topics and case studies,” Pope added.
How to Submit a Proposal for DMA08
According to Pope, submitting a proposal for DMA08 is easy. “Step one, we suggest that anyone who is interested in submitting a proposal should review the proposal requirements. Step two, fill out the proposal form online. You will be able save information as you go; you do not have to complete your submission immediately. The third and last step is to submit your proposal via the Web.”
Pope pointed out that only proposals submitted online will be accepted.
