DMA to Host Feb. 29 Virtual Seminar on 2008 Postal Rates; Free for DMA Members
February 15, 2008 — The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) will present a free virtual seminar for DMA members on Friday, February 29 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (EST) that will focus on the 2008 postal rates.
The US Postal Service (USPS) on Feb. 11 announced that it will adjust prices for market-dominant services — First-Class Mail, Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services, and Special Services — on Monday, May 12, 2008. The USPS said that it will announce its price changes for Priority Mail and Express Mail in March.
At the virtual seminar, DMA Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Jerry Cerasale will be joined by:
· DMA’s postal counsel Tod Ackerly, partner at Covington & Burling
· DMA’s economic counsel Larry Buc, partner at SLS Consulting
· Stephen Sharfman, the Postal Regulatory Commission’s general counsel
· Michael Plunkett, USPS manager of pricing strategy.
The panelists will take a look at the rates, what happens next, what it all means for commercial and nonprofit mailers, and then answer participants’ questions.
The briefing will be free for DMA members and $199 for non-DMA members. For registration information for DMA’s Feb. 29 virtual seminar, click here.
