Danette Dickerman, Joan Renfrow to Receive DMA Broadcast Council's 2007 Jake Weisbarth Spirit AwardNew York, NY, October 10, 2007 — The Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) Broadcast Council is pleased to announce that Danette Dickerman, director of media for Nautilus, Inc.’s Direct Division, and Joan Renfrow, president of ONYX Productions, will be honored as co-recipients of the council’s 2007 Jake Weisbarth Spirit Award. The award, which honors a DMA Broadcast Council member who has demonstrated the most energetic and positive contribution to the council, will be presented at the Broadcast Council Networking Session, which will be held Sunday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. (CT) at BB’s Restaurant in Chicago, during the DMA07 Exhibition & Conference. The award is named after the late Jacob Weisbarth, a former DMA Broadcast Council chairman, who touched the lives of many who knew and loved him, and whose contributions to direct marketing were exemplary. To honor Weisbarth, DMA’s Broadcast Council’s Operating Committee elected to present an annual Jake Weisbarth Spirit Award to the council member who most closely demonstrates a similar level of enthusiasm, commitment, and overall contribution. “We are honored to present this award to two worthy recipients this year — our Broadcast Council co-chairs,” said Kenneth P. Ebeling, DMA vice president of member loyalty services. “Danette and Joan have provided extraordinary leadership for the council, overseeing our networking, recruitment, and educational events, as well as guiding important content in our newsletters and public relations pieces. Certainly, they’re always ready to share their expertise with their colleagues. Together, they have truly driven our Broadcast Council forward.” Danette Dickerman Director of Media, Nautilus, Inc.’s Direct Division Danette Dickerman has more than 19 years of experience in advertising management, campaign management, and direct response media buying.
