Induction Ceremony Set for October 14 During DMA08 in Las Vegas

New York, NY, February 21, 2008Cooperstown has the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Cleveland houses the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  And New York City is the home of the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) Hall of Fame, which honors those men and women whose contributions have advanced the practice, growth, and stature of direct marketing.

DMA is now accepting nominations for its 2008 Hall of Fame honors.  The deadline for nominations is Monday, April 14.  Nomination forms are available online at www.dmahalloffame.org.

Up to four individuals will receive accolades for their lifetime contributions to direct marketing, during the DMA08 Conference & Exhibition, which will be held October 11–16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  There, the formal inductions will take place at the DMA Hall of Fame Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 14.

Commenting on the 2008 DMA Hall of Fame honors, DMA President & CEO John A. Greco, Jr. said, “Even as amazing developments in multichannel direct marketing continue to impact our business, it’s important for our community to pause, look back on the contributions of our peers, and honor those leaders and legends who have helped to lay the groundwork for today’s powerful direct marketing process and to guide where it’s headed tomorrow.”

“As the members of the DMA Hall of Fame Committee review this year’s nominees,” Greco added, “we will look to a number of attributes, including how each nominee has helped promote direct marketing in the global marketplace, integrate marketing channels, and advance direct marketing’s commitment to consumer choice and ethical business practices.”

The 2008 DMA Hall of Fame Committee will be chaired by Marjorie Kalter, Ph.D., academic program director and clinical professor at New York University.

Established in 1978, the DMA Hall of Fame honors direct marketing professionals’ outstanding career contributions to the practice, growth, and stature of the direct marketing discipline.  Since then, the Hall of Fame has inducted 93 individuals, including 2007 honorees Ronald L. Bliwas, president/chief executive officer, A. Eicoff & Company, and Charles D. Morgan, recently retired chairman of the board and company leader, Acxiom Corporation.
