The DMA Elects Six Individuals To Serve On 2002 Board Of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO, October 20, 2002 – The Direct Marketing Association (The DMA) today announced six new members to serve on the association’s board for a three-year term. The election, by The DMA membership, took place at the association’s annual business meeting during The DMA 85th Annual Conference & Exhibition, October 20-23, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.

New members of The DMA’s Board of Directors include Ron Eilers, president & COO, Deluxe Corporation (Shoreview, MN); Jeremy Koch, president, Time Inc. Consumer Marketing (New York, NY); Daniel Morel, chairman & CEO, Wunderman New York (New York, NY); David Shepard, president, David Shepard Associates, Inc. (Dix Hills, NY); Paul J. Springman, group executive, North America, Equifax Information Services (Atlanta, GA); and Deborah Zuccarini, president, Marketing Solutions Group, Experian N.A. (Schaumburg, IL).

The association also elected seven current board members to serve a second term of three years as allowed by The DMA’s bylaws. These include: Ronald L. Bliwas, president & CEO, A. Eicoff & Company (Chicago, IL); Kelly B. Browning, executive vice president & COO, American Institute for Cancer Research (Washington, DC); Harry F. DiSimone, executive vice president, Chase Manhattan Bank (New York, NY); Rebecca L. Jewett, president, Norm Thompson Outfitters, Inc. (Hillsboro, OR); Jerry Shereshewsky, executive director/NY, Yahoo! Inc. (New York, NY); Robert A. Stagno, vice president, Worldwide Demand Generation, IBM Corporation (Armonk, NY); Markus F. Wilhelm, CEO, Bookspan (Garden City, NY).

Board members were elected by The DMA voting members after a thorough review by The DMA Nominating Committee. The committee was chaired by Charles D. Morgan, company leader, ACXIOM Corporation, and 2001 DMA Chairman of the Board and comprised of Robert M. Edmund, CEO, Edumnd Optics, Inc.; Elizabeth Kislik, president, Liz Kislik Associates LLC; David Sable, president & CEO, Wunderman New York; and H. Robert Wientzen, president & CEO, The DMA.

Ex-officio members of the nominating committee included Michael P. Sherman, president, Fingerhut Companies, and 2002 DMA Chairman of the Board; Jonathan P. Ward, president & CEO, The ServiceMaster Company; and Gordon R. Cooke, president & CEO, The J. Jill Group, Inc.

The DMA is the leading and largest trade association for businesses interested in direct, database and interactive marketing, with nearly 4,700 member companies from the United States and 53 other nations.
