DMA List and Database Council Honors DeVito and Morrison

Accolades Will Be Presented August 2 at List Day

New York City, July 11, 2007The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) List and Database Council today announced the 2007 winners of its Ron Davis Young List Professional of the Year Awards.

This year’s honorees are Tobi DeVito, associate director at Paradysz Matera, and Jodi Morrison, marketing manager of acquisition for New York Magazine.  They will be honored during an awards luncheon at List Day 2007, which will be held on Thursday, August 2 at the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square.

“Winston Churchill once said, ‘Difficulties mastered are opportunities won,’” said Stefanie Pont, managing partner of Pont Media Direct, and chair of the DMA List and Database Council.  “Tobi and Jodi exemplify this ideal, and we are pleased to present them with our highest honor for young professionals.  Our field needs these and other talented young professionals, who will forge their own paths and help lead the list community forward.”

Named in honor of Ron Davis, who was responsible for creating the List Marketing Department at Meredith Corporation, the award recognizes young list professionals who have distinguished themselves in their careers.  Davis, who died in 1995, was well-known for his dedication to the list field.  As mentor to many young list professionals, he shared his vision on the intricacies of the list business.

The criteria for the Ron Davis Award include:

·         Middle-management level or below

·         A maximum of five years as a list and database professional

·         Commitment to the direct marketing process as a career

·         Consistent performance at a level above and beyond everyday job expectations

·         Extended education or service in the list arena

Last month, the DMA List and Database Council announced it would honor Fran Green, president of Data Management for American List Counsel, Inc. (ALC), with the 2007 DMA List Leader of the Year Award.

Green’s award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the list and database industry, will be presented at the List Leader of the Year Awards Dinner on Wednesday, August 1 at the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square.  The awards dinner follows Fast Forward 2007, a cutting-edge executive forum for list professionals, which takes place all day August 1.
