| Steve Jarvis, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing operations, provides strategic leadership for the airline’s brand, differentiation, distribution and customer care functions. Jarvis oversees design of the airline’s customer experience, setting priorities for differentiation in a lower cost industry environment. He also leads customer research, brand and advertising functions. Jarvis carries operating responsibility for sales functions, marketing programs, customer care, and in-flight product. Sales responsibilities include alaskaair.com, call center reservations and support, Alaska Airlines Vacations and Travel Agency sales totaling in excess of $2.5 billion. Marketing programs responsibilities include Mileage Plan, Board Rooms and Customer Relationship Management. In-flight product responsibilities include food, beverage and in-flight entertainment. Jarvis joined Alaska Airlines in 1999 as staff vice president of e-commerce, a role that was expanded to staff vice president of e-commerce and distribution in 2002. Prior to joining the Alaska executive team, Jarvis served as vice president of e-commerce and acquisitions for Destinations.com, a Seattle-based online travel portal. Jarvis has held technology related positions at Autodesk, Intermind, and AT&T Wireless. He started his career at Boeing as a design engineer after graduating from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering and master’s degree in business administration. |
