Information For New Users

DID YOU KNOW... The DMA established its Mail Preference Service (MPS) in 1971. Find out how to purge your marketing lists of those consumers who do not wish to receive unsolicited advertising mail.

About Sign On

Most of the Web site is available to the public without signing on. However, some things are restricted to members (such as DirectLINK) and some products are discounted for members (such as event registrations). Members sign on only once for all restricted areas and member discounts. Both members and non-members have access to features such as posting resumes and site personalization, however these still require a user name and password to be maintained.

Visitors can obtain a user name and password through the Web site. To obtain a user name and password the member can go to DMA Interactive home page and click the First Time Sign On link in the sign on box on the left side of the page. It is useful for members to have their customer number for the First Time Sign On process, but not essential.

If you are having trouble signing on, please call Customer Service at 212.790.1500. You may also e-mail us at customerservice@the-dma.org.

How To Find Information On The Site

DMA Interactive provides a number of ways to locate information. Most often you will use the main navigation menus at the top of the page to look for the type of information you want. This is good for browsing the site if you are not sure what you are looking for or just want to explore.

We have a search box at the top of every page. Just type in the word or phrase and select the "Go" button. We also have a full text search engine (which supports boolean operators such as "and" and "or") with which you can search the site.

Throughout the site we suggest related content, in context, based on topic and industry. For example, if you are reading a news article related to the Internet, we will suggest other Internet related articles on that page.
