2009 List Leader of the Year:
Adrea Rubin
CEO, Adrea Rubin Marketing, Inc. |
Adrea began her Direct Marketing career in 1974 as the Direct Mail Marketing Association's Insurance Council Administrator. While spearheading the DMIC, Ms. Rubin was hired as a list brokerage account executive by Names Unlimited, then owned by Colonial Penn Insurance Company. In 1976, she was recruited by Direct Media to open their New York City branch office. During her tenure as Executive Vice President at DMI, she was named Salesperson of the Year from the award's inception until 1988. Adrea became the first female member of the board of directors and was one of the original shareholders.
Ms. Rubin capitalized on her entrepreneurial spirit and forward thinking by opening Adrea Rubin Marketing, Inc. in 1990. As a testimonial to her abilities, 100% of her client base continued to utilize her list brokerage services in the new venture. At present, the average tenure of the firm's client base is 20 years. Recognizing the changes that would affect the future of the list business, Adrea merged the concept of traditional list brokerage with the non-traditional use of compiled data. As a result of her vast knowledge of the insurance industry, Adrea applied this concept of utilizing psychographic and demographic data to counteract the effects of the shrinking traditional list universe. A specialty firm by design, Adrea Rubin Marketing, Inc. has remained true to the insurance sector while establishing her credentials in the credit arena, continuity, and senior and health industries. In 1992, Adrea created Adrea Rubin Management, Inc. Today, both firms embrace multi-channel direct marketing.
The Adrea Rubin companies offer unique customer acquisition, media, and list management solutions to drive business growth. This innovative perspective combines strategy and tactics that amplify and ensure mailers' continued success. Adrea Rubins reputation and high visibility in the marketplace is the key to the companies' success. Over the years, the firms' role has evolved. They have become fully integrated strategic marketing partners. Adrea is involved in creating new products, developing marketing opportunities, formulating creative concepts, and increasing market share for clients of the firm.
Adrea is a long standing member of the DMA and List Leaders Group. She is the 2009 Chairperson for Fast Forward. She continues to speak at many industry events and has published numerous articles.
