On posts relating directly to another organization, or in response to industry announcements or issues be sure to include full link to original source or the other relevant blogs/articles where you sourced your information. (When writing, remember when you see something interesting and relevant, link to it; you'll be doing our readers a service, and you'll also generate links back to us.)
Original posts from Council members should include:
Your Name & Council Position
Company Name (hyperlinked to Company website – provide company URL each time)
Things to remember:
Write about what you know and add value to the industry through this interface. If you have a deep understanding of something, talk about the challenges and issues around it, but avoid issues that you are unsure of, or lack full understanding on.
Please spell check all posts and confirm facts (cite and link if possible) before submitting them.
Please make an effort to be clear, complete, and concise, (and do not be afraid to improve your post by writing a second draft before submitting).
On issues and responses to announcements be timely in submitting your posts. Blogs thrive on current news.
Respect Copywrited materials.
Things to avoid:
You may not post any material that is obscene, defamatory, profane, libelous, threatening, harassing, abusive or hateful to another person or entity. (Saying ‘XXX software/policy sucks’ is not appropriate, but saying, ‘XXX software/policy needs to fix this error, or change this interface’ is OK. – Do not use the DMA Councils Blog to attack competitors.)
These blogs are designed to include industry resources, community interactions and relevant information, NOT corporate communications. DO NOT use the blog as a space to place your company press releases or to hype your own business.
DISCLAIMER: Do not report that you are officially speaking for The DMA or the Council as a whole. The DMA is not responsible for individual posts. The opinions expressed or content shared is solely that of the writer.
