A MESSAGE FROM DMEF CHAIRMAN ALLEN W. DYON AND PRESIDENT TERRI L. BARTLETT

Dear Members of the Direct Marketing Community –

A picture says a thousand words and that’s why we thought it would be best to show you what a fabulous celebration we had on June 10 at the DMEF’s Rising Stars Awards Dinner through photo highlights of the evening.

It wasn’t just the temperature that hit record highs on the scorching Tuesday evening in Manhattan.  A record number of people – close to 400 from the direct / interactive marketing community – gathered to celebrate the 2008 winners, including:

  • Corporate Commitment Award:  KnowledgeBase Marketing / Wunderman
  • Rising Stars Awards Winners:
    • Janet Barker-Evans, Draftfcb
    • Todd Leiser, Rodale, Inc.
    • Joe Pak, Google
    • Joe Pych, NextMark
    • Jeff Yowell, DATACORE Marketing

(See photos below.)

The night was a huge success because of the overwhelming support of individuals and companies throughout the field, with more than $230,000 generated to benefit the many programs and initiatives offered by the DMEF during the coming year.

We’d like to thank each and every one of the individuals – and their respective companies – as well as the impressive list of corporate sponsors whose contributions helped make this evening our most successful New York event in history.

Speaking of DMEF programs, in this issue of our E-Update you can learn more about some of our upcoming initiatives designed to bring up-to-date resources to professors interested in this rapidly changing field.

Additionally, we look forward to giving you a more comprehensive view of all that is happening at the DMEF.  In August, we will launch our new website.  The DMEF Board and staff have been working diligently to create and populate this exciting, content-rich site to serve you and others among our key constituent groups, including students, professors and organizations.  We look forward to welcoming you to our new “cyber-home” later this summer.

For now, mark your calendar for October 11 for our Annual Awards Dinner & Program / Scholarship Auction.  We’ll come together to celebrate the many activities designed to further our mission, and kick off DMA08.  See you in Las Vegas!

Here’s to a great summer!

Sincerely,
