The DMEF Data Set Library
Four individual data sets, each containing customer buying history for about 100,000 customers of nationally known catalog and non-profit database marketing businesses are available through DMEF to approved academic researchers for use within academic situations.
Corporate names are anonymous and customer names and addresses have been removed, but the business type is indicated. ZIP codes have been retained (if possible) to provide a potential link to Census ZIP level demographics.
Demographic data relating to 34,297 ZIPs primarily based on 1990 and updated 1995 Census data with some proprietary additional fields available to Experian.
Credit data relating to 42,765 ZIPs summarized from household credit information available for a large sample of households at Experian.
Cost: Two quantities now are available: 100,000 records or 25,000 records. $25 per data set, plus $25 each if ZIP Code and Credit data are also requested. Cost includes full data dictionary, ZIP Code dictionary, tape/diskette. Each data set is available in ASCII or SAS transport format in CD-ROM output media. All six data sets can be ordered in SPSS format on CD-Rom for $150.
