DMA Briefs Members on New Address Standards for Commercial Flat-Size Mail

At this one-hour virtual seminar — entitled “New USPS Rules for Addressing Flat Mail: How to Ensure Your Mail Continues to Qualifies for Discount Rates” — USPS experts provide DMA members with detailed information on all aspects of the new addressing requirements for flat-shaped mailpieces, which will take effect Mar. 29, 2009. This special briefing positions mailers to begin now to determine how best to incorporate the many changes in address format and placement that will be required next Mar. 29 in order to retain automation compatibility, presort, and carrier route workshare discounts. Understanding the new requirements now will enable catalog and periodicals mailers to incorporate the necessary design changes so as to mitigate the impact the new USPS requirements will have on the geography of mailpiece covers.
