DMA members are only a phone call away from tapping into the Center's vast resources. Our knowledgeable and dedicated staff of Information Specialists handle member inquiries and respond by performing secondary research - utilizing DMA's online database, DirectLINK Online, and other Center resources with customized research summaries (known as abstracts) on any direct marketing topic. When you call us, an Information Specialist will discuss your request with you, and you'll have the results on your desk within a few days. While many information requests can be answered over the phone, there is a modest research fee for requests requiring more in-depth research.
If you would prefer to do your own research, DirectLINK Online (members only) is a searchable collection of relevant and reliable information resources carefully selected and compiled by The DMA Global Knowledge Network Center. This user-friendly database offers net browsers 24-hour access to abstracts and full-text articles from hundreds of direct marketing and related business magazines, newspapers, and newsletters, as well as reference books, ECHO Award case studies, and research reports.

If you prefer to do your own research, The GKNC, in New York City, is open during regular business hours. By appointment, you may visit the Library and have complete access to all Center resources including 1,500 ECHO Awards campaign case studies, various trade and business publications and directories as well as the assistance of the GKNC staff. Direct & Interactive Marketing Case Studies: The DMA International ECHO Awards
The complete and original ECHO Awards portfolios of the Winners, Leaders, Finalists and Semi-Finalists from the past three Awards competitions (over 1,500 campaigns) are housed in The GKNC library. These are the "Oscars" of the direct marketing industry. Through examination and analysis, these innovative campaigns inspire new ideas, provide guidance for future direct marketing campaigns, and demonstrate the effectiveness of direct marketing techniques and media.
- Members may borrow these campaigns for their own "best practices" analysis by calling an Information Specialist at 212.768.7277, ext. 1930.
- All ECHO campaigns, from 1993, are also abstracted and indexed on DirectLINK Online. Presently there are over 4,000 ECHO campaigns available on DirectLINK Online.
