This two-part session will offer insights that demonstrate
why all the marketing hype and buzz about the U.S Hispanic market is every
bit justified. A more macro presentation will cover the latest trends and
statistics as well key psychographic and cultural indicators that characterize
this burgeoning population segment. In addition, the fundamentals
of "smart" Hispanic direct marketing will be covered including everything
from media options, lists, the creative approach, to establishing a control,
operational pitfalls to avoid and results expectations.
Part II of the presentation will cover an exciting multi-media,
direct response case study by Brian Emmett of Guarantee Trust Life, of
a company who experienced a disappointing entry to the Hispanic market
in 1997 but was determined to get it right. Building off of Part I and
through the case study, the presentation will illustrate how, if applied
correctly, the tenets of sound direct marketing to Hispanics can generate
desired results for marketers ready to explore this exciting opportunity!

About
the Speakers:
Chrysanthe
Georges:
President
and founder of Adelante Hispanic Marketing, Chrysanthe is a seasoned marketer
who is passionate about getting it right when it comes to direct marketing
to U.S. Hispanics. A strategic marketing and segmentation specialist, some
of the companies she has executed successful Hispanic direct marketing
campaigns for include: Avon, ACCPAC, Bank of America, Guarantee Trust Life,
New York Life, and Verizon Wireless. A recipient of multiple awards and
accolades, Chrysanthe is an active member of the marketing community. She
serves on the DMA’s Directo Council Operating Committee and was recently
nominated Hispanic Direct Marketer of the Year. Chrysanthe has an
undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University and an MBA
from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).
Brian Emmett:
An
avid direct marketer, Brian has spent the majority of his career in the
areas of life and health insurance. With a background in print production
and purchasing Brian joined GTL after his tenure at Allstate Insurance.
As Manager of Direct Marketing and Advertising, Brain plays an instrumental
role in driving all of GTL’s direct marketing programs with an emphasis
on new customer acquisitions and cross-sell. He works in a variety of media
– from direct mail to DRTV to telemarketing to print. Most recently Brian
played a key role in driving GTL’s successful launch into the Hispanic
market.
