Bing has increased Microsoft's share of the search market by 1 percent in the US according to analysis for June conducted by Web analytics firm StatCounter. Microsoft had 8.23% market share in June, behind Yahoo at 11.04%.

Black Friday Sees $534 Million in E-Commerce Spending, Up 1% Versus Year Ago, comScore Finds
ComScore has reported its tracking of holiday season retail e-commerce spending for the first 28 days of the November – December 2008 holiday season. For the holiday season-to-date, $10.41 billion has been spent online, marking a 4-percent decline versus the corresponding days last year, while Black Friday saw $534 million in online spending, up 1%. For the combination of Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday, online sales were up 2% relative to last year.

eMarketer Revises Online Ad Spending Predictions
eMarketer has revised its Internet ad spending projections, estimating that advertisers will spend $23.6 billion online this year in the US. That estimate is slightly lower than the one eMarketer put out in August 2008, which said that US online advertising spending would reach $24.9 billion in 2008.
