NYC DIRECT MARKETERS GET FLASHED—IN A GOOD WAY! [DMA11]

In another preview event leading up to this year’s DMA2011 Conference and Exhibition, direct marketers in New York City will have an opportunity to participate in a free DMA FlashCon. Emulating the latest trend in flash mobs, this next in the series of three flash conferences will be held June 15 at 2:00 P.M. ET. Spotlight speakers from the DMA’s Oct. 1-6 Boston marketing conference will conduct free lunchtime open-air seminars. During the week of the event, potential attendees will receive a clue of where the FlashCon will be held through the DMA’s LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook connections. Then they’ll have to find it for themselves.

FlashCons may be held at any one of New York’s famed locations, but organizers promise it will be worth the hunt. Those who manage to find the secret location will receive free insights from direct marketing experts into trends and technologies in integrated marketing and collaborative marketing to whet their appetite for learning more of today’s marketing strategies at the DMA2011 marketing conference.

Organizing social media get-togethers for business purposes may be one of the newest trends in direct marketing. DMA organizers hope this unique approach will provide participants with just a taste of what they can expect to learn by attending the full conference in October.
