MOBILE MARKETING IS DIRECT MARKETING [DMA11]

According to statistics provided by the United Nations’ International Telecommunications Union (ITU), opportunities for mobile advertising are growing at an astonishing rate. They report that at the beginning of 2011 there were over five billion mobile users and two billion subscribers to the Internet worldwide. That figure is expected to grow dramatically as experts predict that, within the next two to three year, mobile will overtake the PC as the preferred method of accessing the Web. If your marketing strategies don’t include marketing for mobile devices, you could be planning to fail. Marketers are strategizing now to incorporate SMS (Short Message Service), mobile-compatible web sites, and location-based services as part of their integrated marketing plans.

Mobile has long emerged as a channel, but with all of these developments the savvy marketer needs to keep right up to date with not only the latest mobile technology but also how to use it to gain the best results. The Mobile Strategies track at the DMA2011 Conference and Exhibition offers sessions on mobile, mobile devices, and location-based services that provide marketers with unsurpassed opportunities to reach out directly to where their audience is at any given time.

Over 10,000 attendees will discover the latest in mobile marketing and direct marketing at this year’s DMA2011 Conference and Exhibition Oct 1-6 in Boston. They’ll learn how to incorporate these latest advertising tools into their integrated marketing tool kit so they’ll be able to communicate to the target markets of today and tomorrow, no matter where they are!
