MAKE AN IMPACT WITH SMS ADVERTISING [DMA11]

SMS (Short Message Service) is the text communication service component of phone, web or mobile communication systems. Estimated advertising expenditures in this medium are in the billions of dollars, with even more rapid growth projected. Google has already developed its own suite of SMS applications including SMS Search, Calendar SMS, Blogger SMS, Gmail SMS, and Google Voice SMS. If SMS isn’t part of your integrated marketing plan, you could be missing out on an opportunity to communicate directly to over 2.4 billion active users, or 74% of all mobile phone subscribers.

Mobile advertising is going to have to “kick it up a notch” to keep up with the rapid pace of development in this arena. Entire direct marketing plans might have to be devoted to this one area in order to catch consumers who seem to be more on the run now than ever before. But, if you happen to make contact with them at just the right time, the results can be well worth the effort.

Over 10,000 attendees will discover the latest in SMS/mobile advertising and direct marketing at this year’s DMA2011 Conference & Exhibition Oct 1-6 in Boston. They’ll learn how to incorporate marketing for mobile devices into their total communications program. An explosion of short, precise, direct communication opportunities will be bursting upon the direct marketing scene in the next few years. The DMA Conference is your chance to make an impact with SMS.
