Are You Marketing with Facebook Yet? [DMA11]

With half a billion Facebook users and thousands of online communities, has your company started marketing with Facebook yet? If you haven’t begun to include this social media network as part of your integrated marketing strategy, you could be missing the opportunity to effectively showcase your company's products and services to a world-wide audience.

It isn’t as simple as just putting up a Facebook page. It needs to be part of a total strategy so that communications flow smoothly from one component to the next. Your direct marketing messages should drive visitors to the Facebook page, and your Facebook page should reinforce the current marketing campaign. A Facebook page must be dynamic, not static, so it will need to be managed and updated on a regular basis. And sentiment on a Facebook page needs to be closely monitored and analyzed, so action can be quickly taken if the sentiment turns negative.

Over 10,000 attendees will be in Boston from October 1-6 for the DMA2011 Conference and Exhibition. One of the nine educational tracks will focus on Brand, Social & Content Marketing. Since Facebook is a marketing tool with enormous potential for your business, it makes sense to invest time in attending some of these sessions.
