SEO Basics, Intermediate and Advanced at DMA2011 [DMA11]

There’s always something new to learn about search marketing campaigns. But the true beginner might feel overwhelmed trying to understand all the opportunities in search advertising. Since this strategy plays such an important role in integrated marketing, it’s important to understand a few SEO basics. The goal of SEO is to have your company appear near the top of the results when prospects or customers search for information relating to what you offer. For example, a women’s clothing store probably wants its site listed in search results for dresses, women’s clothing, skirts or fashion. That can be achieved by having a web site that is full of these types of keywords.

The difficult part is getting to the top of the results, so the store’s name is one of the first that customers will see. This involves more complex strategies such as HTML tags and link-building strategies. Other ways to increase visibility are to use social media applications to boost SEO results. A Facebook page which includes multiple keywords, or regular blog posts on fashion that reference the store can also strengthen a search engine presence.

Over 10,000 attendees will discover the latest in integrated marketing and search marketing campaigns at this year’s DMA2011 Conference & Exhibition, Oct 1-6 in Boston. If you’re looking for SEO basics, DMA 2011 provides ample opportunity to gain knowledge from the best. Those interested in advanced information should attend the Search Marketing Certification Workshop.
