Direct Marketing’s Brightest Honored at DMA2011 [DMA11]

Not only is the DMA2011 Annual Conference the place to network with thousands of industry peers, it’s also the place to meet thought leaders and attend many direct marketing awards events. Daily keynotes address some of the industry’s most pressing issues, while the awards honor those who are already taking up the challenge.

Judging is now in progress for the 2011 DMA Innovation Awards. Innovation can be in the form of new-to-market offers, standing solutions addressing complex business problems, market-leading solutions, or some new approach that improves the efficiency or effectiveness of the programs. Finalists and winners will be selected by a distinguished panel of judges, along with a Peoples’ Choice Award. Awards will recognize solutions across seven categories that closely parallel the DMA2011 presentation tracks: Database, Measurement & Attribution; Brand, Social & Content Marketing; Loyalty; Mobile Marketing; Real Time & Trigger Marketing; Campaign & Marketing Operations Management and Digital Media Marketing. Award recipients will be announced after the Exhibit Hall Opening Ceremony. Innovation Award winners' products or solutions will be looped in a video display in the Innovation Pavilion. All winners will have the opportunity to present their winning idea, twice a day, within the presentation area in the Innovation Pavilion.

Tuesday morning starts with a bang as DMA conference attendees will hear a keynote address and see the prestigious Marketer of the Year Presentation. The Marketer of the Year Award recognizes the achievement, innovation, and leadership of an individual or company whose work represents the very best in marketing directly. Those considered for this award include talented individuals who have revitalized the direct marketing process, as well as companies that are at the forefront of innovation and have exhibited corporate and environmental responsibility.

The recognition continues with the Hall of Fame Award Luncheon. The DMA Hall of Fame is the most prestigious award bestowed in the direct marketing community, honoring individuals who have excelled in direct marketing. Hall of Fame members are lifetime achievers who have made significant contributions to their field and raised the standards and level of professionalism in marketing, while inspiring and mentoring future generations and encouraging us to strive for excellence. Last year’s inductees were Howard Draft, Chairman of Draftfcb, and Rance Crain, President of Crain Communications Inc.

Winners of the Hearst Analytics Challenge will be announced Tuesday afternoon. Conference attendees will also have an opportunity to pick an ECHO Awards winner. Four agencies will present in-depth case studies on their winning campaigns to win votes. Attendees will hear the strategy, see the creative, evaluate the results, and vote for their favorite campaigns in the session room using their phone. The winner will be announced that evening at the ECHO Awards Gala hosted by Greg Proops.

Over 10,000 attendees will be learning about the latest in integrated at this year’s DMA2011 Conference and Exhibition Oct 1-6 in Boston - the global event for real-time marketers. Everyone will come away a winner with so many exhibits, concurrent sessions and award ceremonies to attend.
