Social media campaigns live and die by a company’s ability to keep up a high level of activity. This is key, especially for fast paced social media platforms, where an avalanche of activity from others can bury your skillfully crafted updates and marketing messages in minutes. Here are a few tips on social media impact maximization that you can use to help manage a Twitter account, or any other online platform for that matter.

Always have something to say. You don’t have to be controversial to get people interested in what you’re posting online, but it may not be enough to simply publish links or inane comments. If you do this, you run the risk of coming off like a spammer or a troll. Limit your online conversations only to those things that will help further your social media campaign.

Update frequently. Whereas the average blog update is recommended to take place at least once a week, in order to amass a substantial online following you’ve got to ramp up activity. The trick, however, is to not burn yourself out or set a standard that you can’t keep up with.

Share the mic. Social media campaigns are all about you, but they shouldn’t appear that way. Interact with other people via various online platforms to help gain exposure for yourself and to keep people interested in what you have to say.

Promote your social media accounts in the “real world.” They say that word of mouth is still the best publicity, so why not put it to the test? Add your website URL to your company business cards, as well as links to your social media profiles.
