Direct Marketing Goes Mobile
[DMA11]
It has always been a dream of direct marketers to be able to find perfectly targeted prospects or customers, and then communicate to them at exactly the right moment when they are most likely to make a purchase. With many of the advances in mobile direct marketing, that may no longer be such a dream. More consumers every day are finding that their phone has become a crucial part of their lives - they may even leave home soon without their credit card because their information will already be in their phone!
Today's consumers are constantly checking in to get their text messages, read email, or visit their Facebook page. Marketers are finally beginning to make inroads on the commerce side as well, with over 16% of consumers now reporting that they’ve made a purchase as a result of receiving a smartphone message. Some areas that may well emerge as the next big “things” in mobile direct include SMS, location-based services and mobile commerce.
