Changes are Afoot in Social Media for Businesses [DMA11]

We've already seen the world of social media take some serious hairpin turns in its relatively quick evolution. And if there’s any truth to the trends that experts are predicting for the near future of social media marketing, there are some big changes afoot in social media for businesses. Some of these changes include:

  • Greater integration. As businesses realize that social media marketing can only go so far and do so much, they’ll start to integrate those outlets across the board. Expect to see more Facebook and Twitter logos in company print ads, emails, websites, and mobile marketing campaigns as social media begins to take shape in "the real world."
  • Marketing campaigns will become more long term as opposed to brief in nature, as businesses learn to leverage the longer lifespan of social media.
  • The need to create more dynamic and interesting content will lead to an increased need for quality writers in company marketing departments. Businesses with limited resources may also outsource these needs.
  • Social media marketing is an ever-evolving art form that’s sure to take directions that few people could possibly predict. But where social media for businesses is concerned, these three trends are among those that are already beginning to take shape.

If you want to peer into the future of social media, hear what the experts have to say at the upcoming DMA2011 Conference & Exhibition. Scheduled to be held this October in Boston, DMA2011 will bring thousands of attendees, hundreds of participating vendors, and dozens of leading thinkers together under one roof to discuss the past, present, and future of social media marketing.
