DMA Nonprofit Federation: Recognizing Excellence in the Nonprofit Sector
The DMA Nonprofit Federation recognizes outstanding achievement in the nonprofit sector with two annual awards. Nominations are reviewed by the Federation’s Awards Committee and a recommendation is made to the Advisory Council for final approval. The Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award, presented annually at the New York Nonprofit Conference, recognizes outstanding achievement by a nonprofit organization using direct response marketing to advance its mission. The organization that receives this award will have demonstrated outstanding performance in the following areas:
Has an outstanding record of sustained achievement in direct marketing fundraising and has consistently demonstrated successful financial performance
Is a recognized leader with a solid reputation for excellence in the nonprofit and direct marketing communities and with the public at large
Meets the high ethical standards of the nonprofit community, and complies with generally accepted standards for management and public disclosure
Has demonstrated innovative direct marketing techniques
The Max L. Hart Nonprofit Achievement Award, presented annually at the Washington Nonprofit Conference, recognizes career accomplishments by an exceptional fundraising professional with a track record of service, leadership, innovation and integrity. The recipient of this award will exemplify the following:
Served as a professional fundraising practitioner in either nonprofit organizations or service providers
Career has been characterized by innovation and leadership within the direct marketing community
Has an outstanding record of achievement within the direct marketing industry
Served as a source of inspiration and encouragement to others by exemplifying the highest standards of excellence and integrity in his/her work
Respected authority in direct marketing fundraising practice and issues
Committed to the professional development of others through shared knowledge and mentorship
