Program Proposal Requirements

Proposals must use the official proposal form, found below.

A separate, complete proposal form must be submitted for each proposed seminar topic/title. Proposals may be submitted by e-mail to: pdt-rfp@the-dma.org or faxed to 212.719.1952. Supporting material may be submitted to DMA Professional Development & Training - Request for Proposals, 1120 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10036. (Please be sure to reference the proposal's original submission date, and whether it was by fax or e-mail, when mailing to this address.)

Proposals may be for developing, teaching or developing and teaching a seminar. In the last case, DMA, at our sole discretion, may choose to ask you to develop the seminar, even if you are not chosen as an instructor, and vice versa.

Include references and their contact information, pls. Please note that the reviewer may not be a subject matter expert, so please elaborate as desired.
14. What will attendees learn? (State benefits of attending, e.g. 'Attendees will learn how to analyze their e-mail marketing campaigns results.')
15. How will they learn these things? (State methods of instruction, e.g. 'Attendees will review all revenues and costs of hypothetical campaigns, examining all of the areas of potential improvement. In addition to lecture, seminar will utilize a "before and after," small-group exercise designed to examine all aspects of revenue/cost and response measurement in e-mail marketing campaigns. The 'before' exercise will set the stage for what they know before the class, and the 'after' will help them apply what they've learned. During these two exercises, instructor will critique groups' work.)

23. Do you know of any similar seminar, workshop or conference that either The DMA or another organization is currently running or has run? (Please describe.)
24. Have you done (developed or led) a similar seminar for any other organization? If so, please describe.
25. Why should attendees attend this seminar? (What is the USP?)
26. What timeframe do you envision for this seminar? (When do you think you could be ready to deliver a final notebook and/or to teach it?)
27. Is there a specific time of year that this seminar should be presented to be most effective? Similarly, is there a time of year that this seminar should not be presented? (e.g., A seminar on saving money on your taxes SHOULD be presented before the end of the tax year, a catalog seminar SHOULD NOT be presented when the holiday books are being put together, etc.)
